Using Epson Matte Photo Paper

Hi, years ago, I tried marbling using either watercolor paint or acrylic and Epson Photo Quality inkjet paper (matte). I had tried treating regular paper with alum but didn’t have any success, so on a whim I used this inkjet paper. It has a very bright white coated side that immediately transferred the paint without smudging or blurring. It worked very well. I would like to know from someone much more experienced than I if they’ve ever tried this and if so, what kind of archival longevity should be expected.
