Knocking on the Door

Post by Printmaker90249 »

Hello,

I work in a shop, Typesetting, Letterpress, Printmaking and on occasion I pull sheets, Gum Traganth, Pigment based, also Suminagashi, Pastepaper and I have made Wallpaper in the way Brocadepapers were made. I run a 3 Rollermill and grind Pigments.
Lived and worked all over Europe, spend Time in Japan and now in the USA.
My Knowledge in Marbling comes from personal Interest, my studies (Dr. Buchgeschichte) and working with M. Duval while working for his Friend M.Devauchelle (Relieur).

Hello Ludwig,

your mentioning brocade paper is most intriguing, are you ready to tell more?

First, I'd like to see a scan.
Then, I'd be particularly interested in learning what your plates are made of and which base paper in which format you use.

You see, brocade paper has been in my mind for decades and I've tried to make someone interested to try their hand for quite a long time now. But even when they tried they never succeeded.
